A natural in the kitchen with a sense for both service and flavor, Chef Dominique created In The Kitchen With Dominique from her home while raising her 3 children and blogging about her favorite recipes. Since then, it has evolved into full-service catering, private & corporate events, and her latest venture, Dom’s Curbside Dining, a COVID-friendly curbside experience where luxurious dining meets at-home convenience when times are tough and families are busy. Growing up in San Francisco, Dominique always watched her mom in the kitchen. Her Cape Verdean and Black American heritage, in conjunction with her surrounding melting pot of a background provided incredible influence for her taste in recipes and love for the kitchen. Watching her mom chop fresh meals and include color and vegetables in everything she prepared stuck with Chef Dominique.As Dom grew up and started her own family, cooking was central as was the concept of comfort food. Sunday dinners were a staple, and soon Dominique realized that seeing joy and love emerge on a family member’s face after trying a bit of her cooking brought her life and fueled her passion. Since, she knew that cooking was what she wanted to do. Learning to get creative, bring nutrients to every meal, and infusing every meal with love is her mission. Since starting her blog, she has grown her business to working with private and corporate clients, partnering with World Central Kitchen and Eat Learn Play to serve 10,000+ meals to the Oakland community during the COVID-19 pandemic, and relocating to a commercial kitchen. She remains excited to devise fresh, healthy and affordable options to the entirety of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
